The Bedford Elementary Schools Parent Teacher Organization would like to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. The BEST PTO is excited to work together with all of you supporting Davis and Lane School. Throughout the year we have many volunteer led events, fundraising, community building, teacher appreciation, enrichment and physical improvements to the schools.
Membership Toolkit
Stay in touch with BEST PTO and school events through the Davis and Lane online directory at Membership Toolkit (MTK)! In addition to receiving weekly newsletters and school/community updates, all families can access the online student directory. This is a great tool to help connect with other families about playdates, birthday parties, homework questions, etc. Please consider signing up at BESTPTO.membershiptoolkit.com.
What We Do!
VOLUNTEER
There is a wide variety of ways to volunteer to support the PTO. We have volunteer opportunities to include everyone! Volunteer time commitments range from a few minutes to an hour, to a school day or more! A small example of volunteer opportunities include - art or library room, Fall and Spring fundraisers, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Field Day. Please keep an eye out for more information on volunteer opportunities.
- Parents and Caregivers: Is your CORI Up to date? PLEASE NOTE: If you plan to volunteer at Davis Elementary or Lane Elementary this year, you will need to fill out a form in the office called a CORI Form (Criminal Offender Record Information.) You need to do this BEFORE you start work in the classroom. To be in full compliance with the Bedford Public Schools' HR Department and the State, all CORI forms MUST BE SUBMITTED in person, with a valid picture ID, ONLY by the person whose name appears on the form. Forms will not be accepted via kid mail, email, or spouse, etc. The district requires parent volunteers to complete a new CORI each school year.

FUNDRAISING
Our fundraising goes directly to programs at both schools, which enrich our children by providing fun programs that support their learning. BEST Fundraising enhances our children's education by providing for classroom and teacher grants, enrichment programs, and physical improvements to the schools.
Some of our fundraising efforts this year include the Fall Fundraiser, Direct Donations, Teacher Appreciation Donations, Spring Fundraiser, Restaurant Nights, and Bedford Spirit Wear
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS
Previous years’ school improvements have included: new playground equipment, diversified/inclusive literature for classrooms, document cameras, recess sports equipment and storage bins, refillable water stations, the Davis School bus loop, a picnic table for an outdoor classroom, iPad carts, and so much more!
ENRICHMENT
Enrichment programs and activities have included Author Visits and Field Trips.
Your financial donations support of our fundraising, and volunteering at the schools in the art rooms, library, cafeterias, etc. make BEST a very successful organization.
